ADMISSION PROCESS

Applying for admission to Vantage College is fast and easy!

Our application process is a straightforward and simple. We have designed a personalized process that will match you with an admissions representative who will provide you with information, discuss your career interests, and goals. and guide you through the admissions process. 

Unlike other career schools and colleges, Vantage College does not require you to fill out a lengthy application or to write detailed essays. We ask only that you have the desire and the ability to learn, qualities we are able to identify during the admissions process. To assist with this we have included a step-by-step guide to applying for admission: 

Step 1. Contact Us

Our one-on-one personal approach will help you make an informed decision about the best career options for you. Your admissions representative will talk with you about our programs, locations, the admissions process, and more.

Step 2. Apply - Complete an Application

Your admissions rep will review the enrollment application with you and will answer your questions during the process. We encourage you to bring along your parents, friend, or spouse to the interview and to tour the campus with you prior to starting classes.  

Step 3. Complete the Financing Process

A financial aid officer will explore with you the different options you may have to pay for your education, and will present you with a financial package that best meet your needs. 

Step 4. Attend Orientation

The week prior to the start date you will be invited to attend an orientation session where you will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff members who will explain with additional detail attendance and academic expectations and will answer any questions you may still have. 

Step 5. Start classes

Our flexible class schedule allows students to start every two - three weeks, which means that a class start date is always just around the corner.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for admission, you must provide official documentation of graduation from an accredited high school or a state-approved secondary education curriculum, or documentation of high school graduation equivalency (valid home school certificate or GED). 

Additional requirements are:

1- Be 17 years of age or older

2- Not currently enrolled at a primary or secondary education institution

3- Have a valid Social Security number

FAQ – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What should I do to begin the Admissions process?

A. To start the process we encourage prospective students to call our admission officers at (915) 777-3944 and schedule a tour to look around the facilities. This will also give you the opportunity to talk to our admissions representative in more detail about which program is right for you. We are available Monday thru Friday, 8am to 6pm.

Q. When is the best time to visit/tour the campus?

A. The best time to visit is in the morning so we can show you active classes, labs and meet our instructors.This gives you a better idea of who we are as a school.

Q. Do I need a SAT score? 

A. No. None of our programs require SAT scores or any other college entrance exam.

Q. Is your school accredited?

A. Yes, Vantage is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) to award Associate degrees, diplomas and certificates.

Q. When will I be in class?

A. Classes are held Monday through Friday for all programs. Day classes are held between 8:10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Night classes are held between 5:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.

Q. What is a typical class size at Vantage College?

A. Vantage strives to maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio, especially in laboratory or workshop settings. The number of students in a classroom or laboratory is typically 12-16.

Q. If I have previous educational or professional training in a certain field can I be credited for that?

A. An applicant with previous training or related work experience may be issued credit for courses & tuition. Credit will only be given on the basis of a written evaluation by an authorized school official. Credit may not be issued for more than 50% of course work.

Q. Am I allowed to sit in on a class or two to see if it right for me?

A. Of course! After touring the school just speak with an admissions representative and we will set up a date for you to audit any of our classes. Also keep in mind that before you officially enroll & financially commit to Vantage, we have you in class for at least one week so that you know if we are the right fit for you. Q. What are my financial aid options for Vantage?

A. Financial Aid varies for each student. For more information go to our Financial Aid page where you will find an array of options we put together for you; for further questions you can set up an appointment with our financial aid department to discuss your specific situation. 

Q. What if I'm interested in getting financial aid, but I'm not sure if I qualify?

A. Your admissions advisor will be glad to help you schedule a meeting with a financial aid advisor. Your advisor will also give you a checklist of background materials to bring to that meeting so that you have all of the information you need to make the financial aid process go as smoothly and quickly as possible. Your financial aid advisor will explain each financial aid option, guide you to those that are appropriate for your financial needs, and help you complete all of the necessary paperwork. It's as easy as that.
