OUR Associates of applied science in medical assisting PROGRAM

Our Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting (AAS MA) Program is designed to provide graduates with the skills to assistant doctors, nurses, and medical professionals in their offices and other health care settings.

Our students take both general education and technical courses so they can gain the academic theory and technical skills needed to succeed in a medical environment. In the AAS Medical Assistant Program, students learn the structure and function of the body’s systems, medical terminology, diagnostics, therapeutic procedures, computer skills, administrative processes, bookkeeping, and the processing of health insurance claims.

Vantage College provides services such as flexible tutoring schedules, class-related field trips, guest speakers, and interview preparation. We also require externships to ensure our students receive hands-on, real world experience to assist them in finding gainful employment. Once a student completes training, our full time Career Services staff offers job placement assistance, as well as guidance and support even after completion of the program.

Upon graduation, our students receive an Associates of Applied Science degree. As Vantage graduates know, medical assisting is more than a job. It is a career that can make a difference in someone’s life.
